50mm Open Mesh Grating
Our 50mm GRP open mesh panels are designed for heavy-duty industrial applications where high loads, wide spans and long-term durability are essential. They provide a strong, corrosion-resistant alternative to steel grating while remaining significantly lighter and easier to handle.
With a gritted anti-slip surface and excellent chemical and weather resistance, 50mm GRP grating is ideal for high-traffic platforms, access routes and process areas in harsh environments.

50mm GRP Grating Panels FAQs
50mm GRP grating is designed for higher load capacity and longer spans compared with thinner panels. It offers greater stiffness, making it suitable for heavy-duty walkways, platforms and plant areas where loading and deflection limits are more demanding.
Subject to correct span and support design, 50mm grating can be specified for heavy pedestrian use and some light vehicular traffic such as trolleys and pallet trucks. Load tables and span checks should always be reviewed for the specific application.
Yes. In many cases it can be installed onto existing steel or concrete supports, providing a lighter, corrosion-resistant alternative to steel grating, often without major structural changes. Fixing methods can be adapted to suit the existing support frame.
GRP is inherently corrosion-resistant and performs very well in marine, coastal, chemical and industrial atmospheres. It will not rust like steel and requires minimal maintenance over its service life.
Yes. The gritted anti-slip surface has an enhanced coefficient of friction of 1.04 (tested to BS 4592-0), providing secure footing in wet, oily or outdoor conditions.
Yes. We can provide guidance on panel sizes, support centres, fixing details and load performance so your 50mm GRP grating system meets the required safety and structural standards.
